03.11.2009 - New RAGE CD - - Guitar workshops in "guitar Magazine" - - Sensational racing season - - Author at book "Wir sind Hamm" - - Guest musician at 2 CD recordings - - Concert with instrumental project "Trinity" - - New years eve show with RAGE - - New workshop dates added - On 5th of Feruary 2010, the new RAGE album "Strings To A Web" will be released. At the moment I'm working on the bonus material, on which parts of various RAGE shows on festivals like "Wacken Open Air" and "Masters Of Rock" are collected.
In the upcoming editions of guitar magazine, a workshop of mine will be published. There, I present riffs and soli of the upcoming RAGE album "Strings To A Web". 
2009 has been a fantastic race season, as I won 4 class- and 2 group trophies. With start number "25", which I especially picked up because of RAGE's 25th anniversary, the luck was on my side! For more details check out the motorsport section! 
Lately, a book with the title "Wir sind Hamm" has been published by Dr. Volker Pirsich. I was invited to be member of the authors by telling about my life in Germany, focused on being citizen of Hamm for 16-years. ISBN 978-3-9813092-1-8 
As a guest musician I have recorded some solos for the fantastic a capella band "Van Canto" , who will release their new album at the beginning of 2010 by Napalm Records. Furthermore, I'm going to record some songs of the new"Der Bote"CD in December. 
On 14th of November, I am going to visit Moscow together with the instrumental project called "Trinity"!

07.10.2009 - RAGE CD "Strings To A Web" - Hello all out there, After months of work in studio for the upcoming Rage-album "Strings To A Web", I slowly begin to enjoy our new work as finished product! It is such a great feeling to see how few small ideas develop and become something really big. After so many albums, for me it is still some sort of mirical seeing short melodies inside my mind becoming a realistic great song. I have the feeling of that we discovered again something new that brought a lot of fun to us in studio. On the highway there has never been a Rage album that brought so much fun by listening - either you want to go at full throttle or you start dreaming away. The mix of catchy riffs, sometimes down tunings on the guitars and very interesting harmonies, which connect with the voice melody to something that you imedately want to sing along causes that you want to listen right from the beginning as soon as the record is finished playing. On these 14 tracks I have done the most interesting and inredible soli with different tricks and sounds within my whole carreer I think and this made me be able to express all my emotions. Thanks to the further developement of ENGL Amps like f.e. the new Fireball modell, which I used additional to my invader in studio, I tried to bring my guitar sound to another level. "Strings To A Web" is definitely a CD, which I think, will last in my CD-Player for some years longer. From bombastic orchestral parts with fat choir backings on Empty Hollow, to progressive parts during Strings To A Web up to heavy moving riffs on Saviour Of The Dead, this Ragealbum leaves no further requests up to the listeners! The only thing is that you have to be patient until the release in 2010 ;) This album is the greatest one I've ever produced!

22.09.2009 - Victor recorded orchestra parts for new "Leaves' Eyes" CD - - Workshop dates - "Njord", the new CD of "Leaves' Eyes" (Napalm Records), the leading force in Symphonic Gothic Rock and Metal, includes the opus "Froyas Theme", uniting the choral arrangements of the magnificent Lingua Mortis Orchestra, which was recorded by Victor Smolski lately. 07.09.2009 - Victor made a double victory on Nürburgring - At the latest RCN race on Nuerburgring circuit, Victor raced with the monster BMW of the dieselspeed-team. He did a perfect race and made a double victory in the end, as he won in his class as well as in his group. Furthermore, Victor could break his personal "best lap time" on the Nordschleife with 8'04 minutes. (more photos at the "Motorsport section") At the next 2 races, Victor will be on the same car, having the start number 25 again - fitting to the RAGE jubilee! We'll see each other around the track.

15.08.2009 - News from Victor - Hello friends! The summer festival season was great fun and the highlight had been the two mega events "Masters Of Rock" and "Wacken Open Air" (see Photo section)! It was a pleasure for us to have all these fantastic guest musicians / -singers with us on stage to celebrate RAGE's 25th anniversary. Therefore, a big "Thanx" goes out to: Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) Manni Schmidt (Grave Digger) Schmier (Destruction) Erik Hecht (Subway To Sally) Michael Rhein (In Extremo) Jen Majura (Black Thunder Ladies) Nevertheless, a further "Thank You" goes out to our crew: Sascha (guit. & bass), Gerd (FOH), Mark (drums), Jürgen (Light). Best of all were the fans, who screamed, who sang along the whole set with us to also celebrate! Thank you guys! Directly after the festival season we're heading off to the Twighlight Hall Studios, to record the songs for the upcoming RAGE album togetehr with Charlie Bauerfeind. The whole material is already finished and we're confident with the new ideas. I have already packed some powerful riffs as well as some "sporty" guitar soli into my suitcase. Lately, I've been in Minsk to record a longer song together with our Lingua Mortis Orchestra for the new RAGE CD. We are going to try to keep the new album in the style of what we started up with "Carved In Stone" and we'll even improve it. Of course, I never forget to race around the circuit with my racing car from time to time (see motorsport section for more details).... See you soon, Yours Victor

08.05.2009 -Tourimpressions RAGE / Mind Odyssey - Hello together This year we're not only celebrating 25th anniversary of RAGE, but also my 10th anniversary in RAGE as well as 15 years of Mind Odyssey. The tour we made together meant something very special to me, and performing with Mind Odyssey on stage together again after this long break made me remembering my first tour through Europe with the guys. Nevertheless, it was a hard experience for me to perform a double set with almost three and a half hours on stage…, especially those concerts after receiving Peavy's influenza-virus and being on stage with high temperature. All in all it had been absolutely great shows, especially those with the acoustic set before the show, where I first played Cello within the history of RAGE on stage. A big thank you goes to Shadow company, who supplied a special pick-up for Cello. Also the singing and playing of our guest musician Jen Majura suited perfect to the acoustic set. It made us very happy, that our fans helped us on the long search for the right setlist and the result was 99% to our taste. Thanks a lot to all our fans for the great atmosphere and support. For our festival shows this summer we have prepared some more surprises for you. Click on "Photos" to see some tourimpressions.
